Turning units
Different antenna turning units are available:
Conventional (oil filled gearbox driven by a 3-phase electric motor)
Type ST0: Suitable for the lightweight Blueline radar antenna systems and rotational speeds up to 20/24 rpm
Type ST1: Suitable for relatively lightweight radar antenna systems up to 18 ft (SL-family) and rotational speeds up to 40 rpm
Type ST2: Suitable for medium to heavy weight radar antenna systems and rotational speeds up to 60+ rpm, or rotational speeds up to 20 rpm and very high operational wind speeds, and for heavy weight radar antenna systems (like the type SGX39 antenna) and rotational speeds up to 20 rpm
Type ST3: Suitable for single and dual (back-to-back) radar antenna systems that need to operate under very strong winds (typhoons) at rotational speeds up to 20 rpm
Direct drive (torque motor with electronic control unit)
Type TM5: Suitable for light and medium weight radar antenna systems and rotational speeds up to 40 rpm
Type TM6: Suitable for medium weight radar antenna systems and rotational speeds up to 60 rpm and heavy weight radar antenna systems and rotational speeds up to 20 rpm
